Downtown Cary Streetscape Project

According to this Press Release from the Town of Cary, the next steps of the Downtown Cary Streetscape Project are just about underway.

Personally, I can’t wait to see Downtown Cary blossom into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly place for people from all over the Triangle to enjoy. Let’s dream a little bit – what kinds of things would you like to see downtown? More boutique shopping? Restaurants, microbrew pubs?

If you are interested, you can go to the Town Hall building where they have a display of some of the details of the work about to begin.

    I would really like to see a walking promenade with gas lamps outlining the walking path. Something that brings back the “old time” tradition of being able to solicit downtown merchants for ice cream and treats, and then walk the promenade to meet and visit with “neighbors”.
